Artistic Director
Jussi Kauranen
Mr. Jussi Kauranen,
Master of Music, serves as a full-time Artistic Director
of Pirkanpojat Boys Choir. Among the boys, he is known as a demanding
music educator. But he is also known to be encouraging and to have a
good sense of humour. He is quite familiar with the world of chorus boys
because he began as a soprano singer in the choir in 1979.
Jussi Kauranen obtained
his professional education at the Department of
Music Education of the Sibelius Academy, as well as on various courses
of choral and orchestral conducting.
Sulasol, the Finnish
Amateur Musicians' Association, awarded Jussi
Kauranen a Golden Badge of Merit in 2000 for the work he has done for
the benefit of youth chorus music, boys' choirs in particular. In 2005 Jussi Kauranen awarded with Choirmaster Prize in Tampere Choir
Festival.
